Your reactions to “The Passion of the Christ” (after seeing the movie)
So, after seeing the movie, what are your reactions to “The Passion of the Christ?”
When posting comments, please include the date, time, and location the showing you attended and your comments.
For instance, I am seeing it on *2/25/2003 at 11:30 AM* at the *Rave Motion Pictures* in *Little Rock, AR* with my wife, Pastor, and another church Elder.
My pre-movie comments: Honestly, folks, I am not into gore. I refrain from watching any movies from the horror/gore genre. With “The Passion of the Christ” being reviewed as one of the goriest movies of all-time, I have some reservations. However, as it was the custom of the contemporaries of Christ to attend crucifixions, I will attend this depiction of Christ’s passion ( Romans 5:8, Isaiah 53:1-5 ).
I will be in prayer tonight and tomorrow for the opening of this film and will also be reviewing the Holy Bible’s account of the final 12 hours of Christ before attending the movie.

This movie SUCKS!!!
Thank you, Mel! I am a Christian and am now reading the Bible for the first time, inspired by your film.
this movie was nothing but a torture, i havent learned anything, half of it wasn’t even truth. I’m jewish and i will never betray my jewish brothers and sisters, thats exactly what jesus was supposed to do. “not to betray his jewish brothers and sisters.” Jewish people who knows what i am talking about will understand.
This movie shows the Sations of the Cross, something I have been practicing since I converted. There is nothing offensive, if you think it is, think about it again. I’ve never REALLY pictured what happened. This film helped my brother and I understand Lent and take our fasting to a completely different level. Thanks Mel.
Saw the movie a couple of days ago in Tasmania.
Man, you Americans sure are a resilient bunch. It is hard for me to compliment the movie because all I can think about is the the whipping scene. There were no religious statements in this movie at all from my point of view. An interesting documentary but Mel – you’re a sick man!
I saw the movie today in Australia on its official release it is powerful and interesting. Mel a job well done.
I will be watching this movie tonight with my friends and family.
Thank you Mel!!! Saw the Passion of the Christ on 2-26-04. This has reopened my eyes to Christ and what He did for us. People criticize this movie just as people criticized Jesus. We don’t have to worry because we believe what Jesus did for us. Too bad about Andy Rooney’s comments. He isn’t any different then the people who condemed Jesus. These people are afraid of a man who preaches love. Thanks again, Mel for the facts about Jesus on how it truley happened. Oh, anyone who thinks this movie is anti-semetic is again afraid of Jesus. Why didn’t these people come forward and say German people would be targeted if the movie Shindler’s List was released.
Well…
I saw “The Passion of the Christ” this morning.
The movie literally pulls you into the crucifixion, like it or not, you are THERE and you cannot escape the horror of His death.
It’s not Anti-Semitic, but one could walk away wondering why the priests were so adamant about crucifying Jesus.
I’m writing a review that I will post later.
I went to see “The Passion of the Christ.” It was a really intense movie. I cried through most of it. I even cried all the way home. It made me realize and really appreciate what Jesus really did for me and for the world. When they were beating Jesus at the whipping post, I would jump every time I heard the sound of the whip or rods. I knew He suffered for our sins, but this movie made me really realize just how much He suffered. I praise God that Mel Gibson made this movie. I pray God’s blessing on him.
I saw the movie last night & I am still experiencing it’s power to move you. It was not ment for reviews & academy awards, it was made for the heart and it is a much needed wake up call for this pagan world we now live in. I also feel it is the fruit of prayer from every believer
that has prayed for a ray of light to come through this darkness that we find this world in now. My soul & every soul needs this Mel, Thank you
Experienced the Passion of the Christ tonight in Middletown, NY. This is truly a great experience and even though as a Christian I know about Christ’s suffering & dying for my sins, this brought it truly home and to my heart. Thank you to Mr Gibson for bringing this to the mainstream. I did not ever believed that the Jewish people were reponsible for his death, but was always taught that his life, death & resurrection were fullment of God’s plan. I plan to see this movie again. May God bless & keep Mel Gibson, his family & all Christians in his ever loving care.
I just watched The Passion Of Christ on 25 Wednesday 2004. I think it was the best Christ movie that I have ever seen. I have to admit I could’nt stop crying. This movie just touched me and it also touched alot of people that was in the theatre. It was so real and so discusting at the same time, how they wipped him and mocked him.
This movie has’nt left my mind. I think it will remain in my mind for a long time because this is the fist time that anyone has produced a film so real and true.
I just want to thank all the people that participated in this wonderful film my god bless you and keep you and your family well and blessed. And I just want to say to Jim Caviezle and Mel Gibson thank you and god bless you. I am praying for all of you (the actors and actresses that played in it too) god bless you once again and remember you did the right thing.

I just saw the movie The Passion and will never take communion the same again. God bless you, Mel, for having the courage to make this movie. To those of you so close-minded as to judge the movie before it was even out in the theater, before you even saw it, shame on you for assuming the worst.
Just got home from seeing The Passion of The Christ and I have to tell you that if you have the opportunity to go, then go. It has to be one of the most powerful experiences I’ve ever had in my life.
First of all, while waiting in line to see the film, I had the opportunity to see the people who were at the earlier showing exiting the film. I studied the faces and most of the people looked like they were in shock, maybe the better word here is numb, some were openly weeping as they left the theatre, but definitely there were no confused expressions on the faces of the patrons as they left the building; Jesus’s selflessness was fully understood. They just kind of aimlessly shuffeled by us on their way out.
Just into the movie, there were some individuals that left early on, mostly senior citizens who found the movie either too traumatic to take, or too painful to bear. Whatever the reason, they chose not to endure the scenes yet to come.
I found no anit-semitism in the film at all, in fact, I doubt anyone could have found this film anti-semetic simply for the fact that it showed that the rabbis were evenly divided arguing the point that Jesus did no harm in his teachings. If anything, it showed how brutal the Romans were during their reign, and we all know that Romans were not of the Jewish faith. In fact I think that anyone of the Jewish faith SHOULD view this film to better understand our beliefs as Christians, perhaps it would lay to rest their fears of any threat this period of history could invoke against them.
It was brutal to watch. I sat there and actually forced myself to watch everything. Not out of grusome curiosity, but just because I felt I owed it to the Lord – to feel his pain, to watch what he endured for our sins.
My husband says that he was taught this in parochial school, the extent of the punishment and detail of Jesus’s torture. Somehow, I never envisioned the full extent of his suffering. After all, the body on the cross does not depict his true suffering except for the crown of thorns on his head, the nails through his hands and feet, and the puncture wound in his side. It was graphically bloody and hard to take. I found myself gasping out loud in some parts, as I heard others around me doing the same thing. This was mixed with utter silence – no voice, or body stirred throughout the entire event.
Then of course, I wept, and shamelessly so. I wept as if I were there witnessing the whole ordeal in the streets of Jerusalem.
Mel Gibson’s version of the devil walking among the crowd was brilliant. It was not boldly evident, but rather subtle without masking the apparent interraction with Christ and the crowd.
On further examination of my own thoughts, one came to mind time and time again…..I doubt that any mortal man without the divine intervention of God could have endured or survived the extent of injuries sustained before the crucification. You wondered why Jesus HAD to suffer all the way to the final erection of the cross since he suffered so much on his journey to the top of the hill. But then you realize that the hilltop was his release from his bodily pain. That it was the only way to find peace and release from the pain, and therefore he welcomed it, embracing it because it would then be over.
I wept again.
This was emotionally draining, while at the same time fulfilling. I can think of no better way to explain it.
If you can go to see this movie, please go. I promise you that it is worth every minute of it. I can also promise you that you will find no shame in walking out of the theatre with red eyes and wet cheeks past the other patrons waiting to get in to see this. In fact I thought, “If you see the tears on my face, perhaps you will also know that it is not shameful for you to shed tears in front of a stranger”…..after all, it is as it was.
Dear Mr. Gibson Here I AM A JEWISH MOTHER WHO IS CHRISTIAN AND I HAVE JUST ARRIVED HOME AFTER VIEWING YOUR MOVIE AND I FEEL COMPELLED TO WRITE TO YOU IN HOPES THAT SOMEHOW YOU MAY STUMBLE YOUR SELF ACCROSS THIS TO READ MY WORDS… I WAS VERY NERVOUS AND EXTREMELY CONFUSED AND TOTALY AFRAID OF WHAT I WAS ABOUT TO SEE FOR ALL OF MANKIND BUT HONESTLY FOR THE JEWISH PEOPLE MOSTLY BUT TO MY ASTONISHMENT THROUGH YOU YOU SHOWED ME THE TRUTH AND THERE IS NO NEED TO BE AFRAID NOR NERVOUS NOR CONFUSED THE THEATER WHERE I LIVE WAS ALL SILENT IT WAS ALMOST AS IF I WAS WATCHING IT ALONE AT THE PAUSE IN THE MOVIE YOU COULDNT EVEN HEAR A BREATH I WANTED TO SCREAM OUT LOUD I WAS CRYING BUT I WAS FOR SUCH A DIFFERENT MEANING BELIEVE IT OR NOT BUT FOR JOY JOY TO YOU TO FOR YOUR SACRIFICE OF BRINGING THE TRUTH OF OUR LORD TO MANY WHO NEED TO BE REMINDED TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER
AND HAVE FORGIVENESS AND PASSION FOR ALL IN OUR LIVES
PRAISE YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS AND CONTINUE ON WITH YOUR HEAD HELD HIGH TO HIM BLESS YOU & THANK YOU FOR TAKING AWAY ALOT OF FEAR AND REPLACING THAT WITH SALVATION
To God be all the glory forever and ever Amen.
I saw “Passion” at a nearby theater here in Hawaii. I can’t say that I enjoyed it. There is no joy in suffering and so seeing the portrayal of our Lord’s suffering has left me speechless. I came home to inquiries from my family. They wanted to know what I thought of the movie. I had no words to say but I forced myself to speak anyway. I told them that I didn’t like the movie but was very grateful for the reminder. I love the Lord very much. He is so worthy of all praises. God bless Mel Gibson and the crew. God bless you all.
I saw the movie last night, I took my sons ages 12 &14. It was so moving and the first time that it appeared so real to me. I mean we read the story in the bible but you never imagined it was that bad. And the fact that Jesus forgave them was so incredible! His love is amazing! Mel Gibson did a fantastic job with it and even though it was graphic, it was told I believe the way it was. My family benefited greatly from this movie. Thank you Mel and God bless you!
I saw the Passion last night in Peoria, IL. This movie is a real wake-up call to the world. Even though I have been a Christian for many years I never realized the true horror that Jesus went through before and during his crucifixion. Reading and seeing the watered down family versions of these events in the past did not grip me and make me realize the physical pain and mental anguish Jesus went through for my sin. Even though it was hard to watch such violence, I think it was very important method to drive home just how much Jesus suffered so that we can see just how much He loves us. I hope that people will come away from this movie with a clear view that we all nailed His hands and feet to that cross with our sin. I truly thank God that Mel Gibson made this movie, but I also hope that people will truly repent of their sins and walk daily with Jesus. That is what I am going to do and if we all do that, it will be a bigger payday for the Lord than any box office could ever give Mel. I praise God that Mel Gibson had the courage to follow the way the Lord led him to make this movie. I pray that all may come to a new understanding of how much Jesus truly loves us.
Than you, Thank you, Mel Gibson and the entire staff. God bless them.
The best movie ever created about our Jesus.
It’s a Masterpiece. Wow! My hat off to you and all. God bless all of you always.
I saw the movie twice yesterday Feb. 25, 2004 in Staten Island,NY. It was wonderful. It took me away and back to the day of the crucifiction. I felt I was right there with Jesus. It showed me very clearly how Jesus loves me and how much he suffered for me. I feel like going to see the movie over and over again. It would be wonderful if Mr. Gibson made similar movies about the Life of Jesus Christ, about His resurection, and about all the Christian saints and martyrs that our Church history is rich with. My children were also very moved by the movie. They want to go see it again in the weekend.
I saw the movie yesterday afternoon. It was amazig. It shows the love of Jesus toward man, and it is very moving. Now I have the visual picture in my head of what it was really like. The film is very violent, but it has to be to be realistic. It’s very Biblical. Way to go Mel Gibson. I am very happy that this movie is out for everyone to see, and I hope a lot of people DO see it and realize what the Lord Jesus has done for us. “He was wouded for our transgressions.”
I havn’t seen the movie yet, i’m seeing it soon when i get the chance! I’m really looking forward to it! I really think this movie is going to change peoples lives! I think we should pray that we should prepare ourselves for the people that have quesiotns after and go and see the moviie out of curiousity, and then relize why Jesus died on the cross for our sins! For the people who wnat to know more about Jesus, i think we should pray for that! NATE! God Bless everyone!
Dear Mr. Gibson
I am a High school ,and I want to highly congradulate you on your movie the Passion. After seeing the movie for myself, I thought it was not against jews. Also I think that anyone that attacks you or threatens you only proves what Jesus said. Christ said that Christians will be hated because He was hated.
I just wanted to say thank you. Also, I am not a Catholic, but I think although it did have a Catholic influence (e.g. the stages of th cross being shown) it did not “deify” Mary which I was very happy about. As a whole, The movie was great.
The only thing I did not understand was who the baby satan that was holding ( I thought it might have been the anti-christ. Also Simon of Syrene was from Africa so why didn’t you have a black man playing his role. Thank you so much.
I hate to be the lone dissenter but I thought it was awful. It was not the violence that bothered me but Gibson’s use of extra-Biblical writing. He drew so much of the movie from the writings of Anne Catherine Emmerich that by the time he was finished it barely resembled the gospels anymore.
I published an in-depth review on my site if you’d like to read more.
I saw the Passion Of Christ on Tue. 2/24/04 in Charleston, WV.
Thank you Jesus that you gave your life for mine!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cried through most of the movie. I dont think there are words strong enough to tell how much I Loved this movie. It has made me look at my relationship with Jesus. The movie has brought to life the death of Jesus, The Passion of Jesus, The Perfect Love of Jesus. Hats off to Mel Gibson! Thank you Lord for using Mel to bring the true story to life, Bless him and the cast of this WONDERFUL film.
To: Mel Gibson
I saw “The Passion of the Christ” on opening day. It moved me like no other film ever has. It has been said that it could change our culture; that’s an understatement-it could change the world! To be sure the Devil will fight it tooth and nail, as I’m sure he is already doing.Taking communion will never be the same; I believe you were born to make this film!
In deepest appreciation,
A sister in Christ

Wow… Tim Challies came by!
In reply to James question about the baby being held by the evil woman, The evil one is known as the father of all lies and I guess having a woman carry this evil child could represent the offspring of all evil. Also dare we say the Anti-christ will be born of a woman.
It was actually quite clever to do this to ensure that the audience gives it some thought. I would like to know what other’s thought of this to.
Thanks, Anthony. I meant to add a “smiley” to let you know I was being a bit facetious with my question, though I seriously was wondering what you were asking.
I read your blog “religiously” as well.
FIRST THANK YOU GOD! FOR GIVING MEL THE ABILITY AND THE COURAGE TO MAKE A FILM LIKE THIS. I WISH
THAT I COULD HAVE TAKEN MY GRAND SON WHO IS ONLY
SEVEN HE IS SO EAGER TO LEARN MORE ABOUT JESUS NOT
JUST BECAUSE OF THE FILM THAT HE CAN NOT SEE BUT BECAUSE HE IS STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY WE WERE ARE ALL SO MEAN TO EACH OTHER. THIS IS REALLY A WAKE-UP CALL FOR ALL OF US. WHAT ARE WE DOING WITH OUR LIVES IT SURELY IS NOT WHAT HE WOULD WANT US TO DO. AGAIN THANK YOU! MEL
I saw “The Passion” last night with my husband in Portland, OR. It was powerful, it was painful, but I believe it is probably very accurate to what Our Lord did for us. Most movies have very little if no effect on me after the movie is over, I get up, make a comment as to “It was a good movie or it was a waste of time”, walk out of the theater and go about my life. But this movie is personal, it is a true story of what happened to someone I have an immense love for, because He has an immense love for me! I watched it with tears pouring down my face and my heart being ripped apart. THERE IS NO GREATER LOVE !!!!!!
“Wow… Tim Challies came by!”
What on earth is THAT supposed to mean?
I went and saw the movie today i have to say this is one of the best movies that i have seen probably in my lifetime and i want to give a huge thanks to mel gibson for doing such an excellent job on not only how he potrayed the sanctions of the cross but the over all filming of it was simply amazing… if anyone else has gone could you explain something? i know that evil is represented by the women who speaks like a man but why is evil carrying the evil baby???? does anyone understand that?
hi there im 13 yrs old and i just want to say that the passion of the christ has seriously touched me ive seen many versons of christs final hours but none like this…thank you for making such a beautiful movie
The Passion of the Christ
My husband and I just viewed this phenomenally, moving inspirational movie when it opened last night. Never before has a movie depicted the true suffering of Christ during his torturous passion. It was and should be as unrelenting as Christ suffered.
It moved the whole audience to tears, some sobbing, not excluding my husband and I.
This movie was a beautiful, artistic cinematic reminder of what I needed to remember, that Christ gave the ultimate sacrifice for the forgiveness of my and all humankind’s sins. This movie was a life altering experience for me and my husband, and I do believe the whole audience. For never since I was a child have I seen a whole movie going audience collectively stand and cheer when the movie was finished. As I watched the faces leave every person’s face was tear stained and solemn. I heard only positive comments, and people were lined up outside to see the next showing. This movie was so inspirational that my husband and I immediately went to church, and received our ashes and repented of our sins that caused any of Christ’s suffering. Thank you, Mel. As far as this movie being anti-Semitic, I have to disagree. This movie depicted the high priests accurately as afraid of Jesus destroying their power structure. More Jews were depicted in a positive light with Simon carrying the cross, the Jewish women sobbing and protesting Christ’s abuse, and going against the Roman guard to give water and wipe Jesus’ face. The High Priests who were thrown out of the Jewish Temple for protesting Jesus’s conviction. The Roman Guard were depicted in the most negative light. I don’t see Romans comlaining they were prejudiced. Thank you Mel for reminding me of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice for all humankind, and I thank Christ for my salvation.
Tim,
I read your blog at “Challies.com(Putting the ‘Fun’ in Fundamentalism)”:http://www.challies.com “religiously” and I was pleasantly surprised to see your post.
Thanks for coming by…

>>What on earth is THAT supposed to mean?
This is one of the greatest story/movie ever told. I must thank God for using Mel Gibson as a tool to tell his story with such turth. I am not your normal church person, but to sat and watch this movie and to be able to go back to the bible and research and find nothing changed, this is amazing. I can not speak for everyone else but I have started to read the bible more since watching this movie. Mel from all of us who has faith we thank God and we thank you. Keep up the good work. God will remember this.
If this movie was torture, then Mel Gibson is the best director of all time. He succeeded in relaying the true depiction of the last 12 hours. Growing up in a Pentecostal Church, these stories were engraved into my memory. Forget horror movies! Just read the bible or sit through a fiery sermon. Did Mel Gibson make the story? No, he told it, and did an EXCELLENT job! My hat is off to you, Mr. Gibson. You were able to recreaste the story, and keep “the Hollywood” under control. Truely a memorable movie, and one of the best I have ever seen. Here’s to your next Oscar.
I went to see the Passion on Monday March 1, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky at 930pm. The show here is hard to get tickets too so you get them in advance. I have never been to a movie that I felt I was right there beside him and felt Mary and the disciples feelings as well as feeling the pain that Jesus was going through. How would any man go through all this which I know in my heart this is what they did to him and not give in and say he wasnt? I know why Hail Mary’s are so important now seeing her watch as her son was torchered because of his faith in our Father.
Would you be Judas for money or stand by and get torchered for our Father as well? That is the question I have asked myself and I have at times told him I wish I had went through it instead of him but at that time I didnt realize how much he actually went through because of modern times.
It starts now to stop and believe in the one true God and show it by loving everyone as ourselves.
If you cant deal with someone walk away but do not ridicule. We all have that problem.
Thank you Mel Gibson We need more movies that do our lives good not sex and killing of each other all the time.
Peace, Love and More Understanding Towards each other is what we need.
God be with One and All.
Nancy
WERE YOU THERE. . .?
‘The Passion of The Christ’
and the Lost Art of Christian Meditation
This generation owes a debt of gratitude to Mel Gibson for having dared use the power of modern media to bring before the eyes of millions the fruit of, what unfortunately has become a lost or rare art, the art of Christian meditation.
The movie begins with an ancient quotation (700 BC) from Isaiah 53:5, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” This is the theme of the movie and runs through it from beginning to end.
After the quote the movie goes on to recreate the events of our Lord’s passion from the garden of Gethsemane to the resurrection, with brief flash backs to relevant material concerning the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice in light of his own teaching.
Although it will surprise many, in a sense, there is nothing new in this story. It is a part of the Gospel story that every devout Christian, nourished in the historical Church, has seen in his mind eye time and time again, as he follows the Church calendar reliving in real time the various aspects of our Lord’s earthly life, especially the last moments rehearsed during Holy Week.
In fact, this is a Holy Friday movie. Because of that, it is bound to be misunderstood by a culture which has lost sight of the reality and meaning of Holy Friday in its context on the Gospel story and its implications for the World. Just like Holy Friday, this movie is the kind of experience that only should be undertaken after due preparation.
I believe this is the greatest problem that this movie may present. It will probably take millions of viewers unfortunately unprepared. Since people seldom read any more, and those who read do not meditate, even many Christians’ acquaintance with the Gospel’s story is superficial and incomplete. Therefore, many viewers will leave the theater in complete shock.
It was interesting that at 5:30 p.m. of the Thursday after Ash Wednesday the audience in the packed theater, appeared to me some how unusual. It gave me the impression that the movie had drawn all sorts of people, even those who had not been to the movies in years. There were also many families (with children), some of which, seemed to me, were there as if they were coming to a Friday youth meeting or summer camp. They were ready with bowls of popcorn and soda in hand eagerly waiting to participate from holy Christian entertainment.
It will not surprise me to hear that they were shocked or disappointed. This is not an entertaining movie. I know that every one around me cried with me, and I have no idea of any other reaction to the movie as the people abandoned the theater in solemn silence.
The contrast between before and after was clearly visible. As I was coming out I noted a new full line of people chatting, with their share of popcorn and soda, while they waited for the theater to be cleaned to enter for the next showing. I could feel the weight of their scanning as they unsuccessfully searched for feed back the unusually silent crowd departing from the theater. “Another round of unprepared people,” I thought.
But what can one say? They will only find out how unprepared they were if after the movie they decide to go to a church that understands the value of Christian meditation and learn to read the Gospel with contemplative eyes. Then they will realize that all that brutality has been actually there in the Gospel Story, all the while, with real people of flesh and blood. They will join the countless multitude of Christians through the ages that have been, without watching the movie, already there. With them they will realize that there is even more there than they have yet seen or ever imagine.
‘Where you there when they crucified my Lord?’ the Negro Spiritual Hymn asks again and again. Michelangelo, Rembrandt, J.S. Bach and countless other artists have been there. We must go there also and face the suffering Christ.
As people learn to read the Bible meditatively, they will discover that not all scenes of the movie follow exactly any reading of the Gospel and that in spite of the historical accuracy of the whole movie many details are not literally registered in the Gospels. They will then realize that they have seen first hand the fruits of the lost art of Christian meditation, i.e., the fruit of what happens when the mind engages the story reading with full devotional attention, and allows the imagination to recreate the story with its many details and shadows, recreating a multidimensional drama including things that may have been there, although they were not recorded, allowing the depth of the real human and divine drama to touch our souls; in a word allowing us to be there.
I do not know how people will react in the long run. But I hope that this Holy Week we will receive an overflow of visitors to our services; people aching to see, hear, and participate more of the context and details of this glorious story. That certainly is my prayer, and that every Christian would learn to regard the profound mystery that lies at the heart of our Christian faith and life.
That is why I believe we ought to thank Mr. Gibson, in helping our post-Christian generation to experience first hand some of the fruit of the lost art of Christian meditation, that it may have an opportunity to appreciate what it is that to which it is turning its back, and how ultimately few and evil are the alternatives.
PD: A Word of Caution
Like the meditations that we ought to do when we close our door to the outside world to be alone with the Lord, this movie is best seen first outside the limits of group pressure. It is too much of a personally moving story, and it would be better, the first time, to go with an audience you will not have to worry about their reactions.
Only children mature enough to have meditatively read the story of the gospels and who have seen in the eye of their minds the reality of the passion should be allowed to see this movie. If your children have not yet cried while attentively reading the passion story, wait until they do. It would be an offense against them to do it other wise.

Praise the Lord
I truly believe that you and your crew depicted the last hours of our Lord Jesus Christ’s life is exactly as stated in the Holy Bible. I believe that your faith in God lead you to make this movie and spread the reality of what he gave up for us. Thank you is all I can say for a job
well done; blessings will fall upon all who watch and participated in this wonderful emotional film.
I have been a Christian for a long time and I studied my Bible and listened to the educated on the Bible; but seeing on the screen brought it
to life and reality in our time not just in written word for us to learn and beleive.
“For whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This is the reason his Father sent him to earth as a man to save the souls of earth. I believe that the Jewish people have been forgiven of the sins of their forefathers destruction of Jesus. Those that prosecuted him recieved the punishment in the days that followed. The Jewish community as a religious factor has a right to believe in Jesus Christ in their way. We all have choices to make and our God, God of all will lead every man, woman, and child in the right direction when asked to give their live to him and follow him.
The reality is the truth that is what non believer think is harsh. The depiction of his life is spelled out in the Holy Bible.
Thank you again and God bless all
Letting Mel Gibson know that he has given the world such a gift. God gave us the ultimate gift of his son but this movie is a heart wrenching gift to always remind us of Gods gift to all us humans. I am not a Jew but I truly love them and know that they are Gods chosen nation. I wish I was a Jew. Their heritage is so rich. Bless them.
I just saw “The Passion of the Christ” and it is the best movie I have ever seen. It was a very powerful movie. It is the only movie to date, that has brought me to tears. There are no words that can explain this movie. Mel Gibson did a perfect job on it.
SJay, Sei4God@aol.com, I was reading the comments about the Passion movie, and saw yours.
The reason I was there, is because I was trying to find some comfort for my son. I wondered if I should suggest he go see the movie, and maybe that would help him get his perspective back. I have not seen the movie yet. Your comments touched my heart, because they are so close to my own views. When I saw where you were from, it also touched my heart that maybe God had directed me to you.
My son is a marine and stationed at Kaneohe Bay, HI. He called this morning and said that he is torn. He believes in God and country, and is very proud to serve to protect his family and country and freedom. The reason he is torn is that his Christian heart and what he is being taught to do (combat) seem so contradictory. He said that he thinks he may be the only Christian in his company, and he feels very alone. He also is concerned that his fellow marines are not ready to die (they don’t seem to know God, and curse his name). He wonders if they were shot in battle and only had a few minutes to live, could they, would they make things right with God…would there be time, and is it possible, and how could he help them.
I told him that all things are possible, but God must be on the scene, and dealing with that person…in other words, God must do the knocking at the door, we choose to answer. Thus, it behooves us not to put off salvation, but when we hear His voice, to answer.
I pray for him daily and I know that God will take care of him. I want to help and encourage him all I can. I know being a marine is a hard job.
If you ever have time, to encourage a young struggling Christian Marine, please remember him. He misses a Christian family. (Or if you don’t live near him, maybe you know someone who does…)
If your paths ever cross, give him a hug for me.
He is in 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine
MCBH Kaneohe Bay, HI
Thank you for your comments. It is encouraging to know there are other Christians out there.
Your sister in Christ,
My husband and I saw “The Passion” on 2/25/04 at the Showcase Cinema in Woburn Massachusetts. We were stunned, humbled, tearful and grateful. This movie is not about Romans, jews, violence. It is about Jesus Christ and what he suffered for us.We kept thinking “he did this for us.” It was powerful. At the end of the movie people stayed in their seats. We were just overwhelmed. Mel Gibson reminded us that although we may forget Jesus, he never forgets us. Great work, Mel!!! Mary Lee & Ed mimandsir@AOL.com
What a blessing to read all of the comments from those who have or are going to see The Passion of the Christ! I saw it today with a large group from our congregation at Grapevine Mills theatre in Grapevine, Texas. My response was much the same, many tears and gratitude to our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, and for God using Mel Gibson the way he has for his honor and glory. Thank you, Mel, for taking a stand for our Lord in spite of strong opposition. May we all who love the Lord and belong to him pray for a powerful working of the Spirit in hearts who are open and responsive to this movie, that it will not be a temporary thing as the response was to 9/11, and that the world will see a revival in the United States with hearts turning back to God. May we have courage to share with our friends who don’t know Christ the power of the Cross and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
i am personally moved and spiritually touched by this movie portraying the selfless sacrifice that jesus made for all mankind. thank you mel gibson for this wonderful act of love that you have given us all.
Dear Mr. Gibson,
I am a high schooler and would like to thank you for directing the movie the Passion. I just wanted to say how much the movie has changed me. It has changed me in many different ways that I would never have guessed. I am a l6 year old and am a Christian and I really don’t Know a lot about the bible because I havnt read it alot but the movie you directed has brought me to for one understand how much reading the bible is and to understand how much God went through to save us from our sins. I also believe that the movie wasnt directed fully towads the Jews. I also agree with how the movie follows the bible all the way because I went home and read Mathew, Mark, Luke and John and it said alot what the movie said. I also whant to thank you because you made me think a little harder when I sin to remember how much God went through.I am sorry If I got a little personal but I had to let you know how I felt and how much I agreed with you. Thank you again for the movie.
Gratitude…….that is the word which keeps resounding in my head after seeing this movie. Absolute gratitude for what He did for me, a sinner who carries the same betrayal of Judas, the denial of Peter and the doubting of Thomas.
While I must admit to carrying the same weaknesses of the disciples, I too must admit a connection with the Pharisees. I have the same fear and misunderstanding that shadows the truth which leads me to protect that which I hold sacred. But in the face of His sacrifice I must release that old covenant and take on the new.
In the end, I feel we all are most like the man who was depicted in the movie, the one who was forced to help Jesus take up the cross. It represents how many of us are brought into the church by our parents. How we take up this walk with Jesus not totally of our own will, yet in the journey of taking up that cross, we are touched by His blood, His sweat and His love for us. In the course of this journey we willing see it through to its end only with Jesus at our side. Though He is bloodied and beaten, it is not without His arm wrapped around ours does the cross make it to the Skull and beyond.
Just as the man depicted in the movie, we start out as an unwilling participants, but in the end, as it was so eloquently shown in the movie, He carries us past the Skull, to another place we can only dream of. We only need to take up that cross to see it.
Thank you sweet Jesus…….thank you.
WOW!!! This was the most amazing movie I have seen!! It was a great experience and REALLY deepened my faith. I never knew exactly how much Jesus really suffered. I am really glad I was able to see this!! Thank you Mel.
Saw “The Passion of the Christ” yesterday (2/28/04) in Austin, Texas. Made me realize how undeserving we really are of what He did for us, and how meaningful it really was that He chose to continue with His destiny, in spite of the fact that He could have chosen to stop it at any point. It also captured His love very well in the clips from the Sermon on the Mount and the Last Supper, and, needless to say, the crucifixion. Definitely moved me to tears and definitely deepened my faith. I am so grateful that Mel Gibson followed God all the way in making this film.
i aint seen the film yet, but i think that people need to stop moaning and just realise that whether or not it is anti-semetic, which i believe that it is not, the suffering that Jesus went through was real and was caused by those there at the time and the consequence of all our sins. Its fact so just face it.I cant wait to see the film, i am sure it will be mind blowing. Peace
Dear Mel,
This was your calling.I know God is so proud of you for getting the message out. The people need to remember. I know alot of people don’t agree and want to give you a hard time. Thats OK, it’s just not their time right now. There time will come.
I don’t know if you will get this message.I have a gift from God and maybe you can help us. I would give you more information, but I’m not comfortable on this site. Please email us if you can.
Thanks for everything you already did.
sincerely,
S
Hello and God Bless to everyone:
I saw the movie, and as the movie begun I was overwelled with tears so throughout the movie you know it didn’t get any better. I think this is the most powerful movie out there and will every be. I believe that if you see this movie and a tear don’t roll down your face and if you leave the movie the same way you came in then you need to seek real medical attention. God is working in a mysteries way, com eon people out of all the things Mel Gibson could have did he produce a movie “with his own money” about the last 12 hours of Jesus life, that ain’t nothing but the Holy Ghost. We need to realize the world is coming to a end and god is coming back, and if we don’t want to be left here when the rapture comes back we need to get our life together.
Romans 12:1
I saw “The Passion of the Christ” and I can not understand why people are saying bad things about the movie. It is the Truth about the way Christ died for us. I know some people would rather suger coat everthing. But the truth is they beat him. They made it to where he was covered in blood. They didn’t just tap him. They beat him till he couldn’t even walk.
The jews did not kill him all by their self. We all had a part in his death. We killed Jesus with our sin. He would not have had to die if there was no sin in the world. He did it for us. So, that we could be forgiven for our sins. When I was watching the movie and they were beating and beating him,all I thought about was that I did that to him. That he loved me so much that he took all of that for me.He didn’t have to.And even though it was painful he still took it all for us not for him. But for you and me. And I will try my best to live the way he would have me to live.Thank you Mel Gibson for making the movie it is a real eye opener for me. It will stay with me for the rest of my life.
This movie was absolutely gruesome!
Humans have a natural reaction of disgust when viewing this type of brutality, but it always carries with it a twisted fascination.
I believe that is the only way a person could consider this film worth seeing. Although Christians may have been moved by the sheer physical and emotional torture Jesus experienced during his sacrifice, it didn’t uplift.
I’m afraid that it will sicken and turn any non-christians permanently away from Christ. It just wasn’t the story of his sacrifice. It didn’t give his true message. It didn’t show any of the crucial events that followed his resurrection.(Luke 24) Now there’s the story. Assuming that this would be included, I actually stayed through the end of the movie.
It was two hours of watching a man being tortured and beaten to death with every tiny, disgusting, bloody, gory detail that hollywood could procure. If it’s too gruesome to watch, it’s not going to do anyone any good. I would advise most against seeing it, and especially don’t take or allow any children to see it. I witnessed one being sick in the aisle…
I’d like to say Passions of the Christ put everything in perceptive for me. I want to reach Mel Gibson himself but I know that’s impossible.
In case you see this.. Thank you, for showing me and my friends what happened, without sugercoating it all.
I don’t know what I can say except for thank you.
Viewing “The Passion” was an extremely moving experience. My little finite mind cannot fathom a love so unconditional! The agony and the love of Jesus Christ was overwhelming! That Lamb of God will one day come back as the Lion of Judah. All creation will either know Him as a Lamb or a Lion, in Glory or Wrath.
Sorry, my english is very bad, but I’m from the Netherlands.
I will see The Passion about 5 weeks. At that time the starts by us. Now I have 1 guestion: Is there also silence in the film. Because we must realise that Jezus is died with few words. When he cried and when He swet blood at Gatsemane it was very quiet or not? I will have an experience of God but not in the wrong way.
I’ve al lot of questions about the film. When you will react on my letter you know my mailaddress
Regards,
Mr. Gibson,
Brought 7 grandchildren (ages: 7 to 12 yrs. old)to THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST yesterday.
THANK YOU! Sincerely, THANK YOU! Our prayers are with you.
Gratefully, Marjo
i am a jr in high school and a devoted chatholic and have been all of my life.THis is the most moving movie that i have ever seen in my entire life.it has changed my view of life to be honest. It makes me realize how much we take our lives for granted, and i know that from now on i will always think twice about what i do. It makes me think of how much Jesus really did care for us good people sinners no matter what u do or have done god will always forgive you no matter what you say or do. and after seeing this movie i am truely sorry for all of the sins that i have done in my life.i know that you all may think that she is a teenager and she doesnt know anything and it hasnt changed me but MEl you have truely changed my life for making this movie and i am truely thankful for what you have done..GOD BLESS EVERYONE!!! NO MATTER WHAT RACE SEX RELIGION GOD BLESS US ALL!!!
This movie was very anti-semitic and he shouldn’t win any Oscars.
Jesus was Jewish and he should of stayed one.
The Passion of the Christ is nothing more than 197 min of horrific violence.
There is NO story line, and nothing to be learned by anyone. It is a mental assault on the innocent. It is a tool of evil to bring violence and corruption into otherwise peaceful religious homes.
Mel Gibson, shame on you! You may have been inspired to create this movie, however in my opinion it was by Satan himself.
I say the Passion wednesday night in Hickory n.c. I cryed most of the time . I think this a wake up call for America. Ilove Jesus so much I thank him for all he did for all of us. As I watched I thought if I had been the only one he still would have went to the cross for me.I love Jesus and thank him. Iwill never be the same again. I give God the praise for giving Mel Gibson the will to make this movie . I have heard of people giving their hearts and lives to Jesus because of seeing what Jesus did for them PRAISE THE LOD THANK YOU JESUS

I saw the movie on 3-4-04. I kind of knew what I was in for from the previews that I saw. When the movie started I was a little apprehensive about what was going to happen. I cried a lot through this movie. When we read in the Bible that they crucified him, we don’t really understand what this means. We have to see it on screen so it can sink in what really happened. This film is in no way anti-semetic. When I was watching Jesus being beaten, I felt anger and sadness rise up within me. I wanted to stop those soldiers and beat them with the whip. This movie is so beautiful!! Mel, I want to congratulate you on a job well done!! May God bless you and the cast. This is a movie worth seeing!! Some people get offended because they don’t ubderstand the real pain he had to go through. I thank him for it!!
My thanks to Mel for a non hollywood movie,I have been waiting along time for truth,I don’t see where anyone class of people are bing blamed for what happened to Christ, rather a very good realization of what may have taken place, why is it so bad, look what is going on it the world today
Iraq and many others places, what is so unbelievable or so horrible, really people just look around, because we don’t see it first hand every day dos it make it ok,this I think is reality,Thank You again Mel.

WOW!! That’s one intense movie. I’ve been a Christian for five years now, nad I thought I knew what to expect when I walked in by what I had read in the Bible, Hebrew-Roman studies, and normal movies, but nothing could have prepared me for the realism and accuracy of this film. I never am truely affected at movies, but I cried all the way through it, and for several hours after. Then I just kind of sat in shock through most of the rest of the day. I must say, this is the single most powerful thing I have ever seen, and it took such faith on the part of Mr. Gibson and the cast and crew. My prayers are with them, and I sincerely recommend this movie to everyone.
Reporter Anna Quindlen attacked Mel in Newsweek, March 8 issue. Accusing Mel of “trading God for personal gain. The modern version of 30 pieces of silver”! The following was e-mailed to Newsweek, though I have no hope it will be printed, they can hardly tolerate truthful rebuttal.
“It is a good thing Anna Quindlen gets the “last word” for she could not handle a rebuttal!
May I suggest to Ms. Quindlen, who took writing space to expound on her own virtures, consider the following from James, Chapter 3, Verses 8, 9, 10 and ll. (8) “But the tongue can no man tame, it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. (9) Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and THEREWITH CURSE WE MEN, WHICH ARE MADE AFTER THE SIMILITUDE OF God.(10) Out of the SAME MOUTH proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, THESE THINGS OUGHT NOT TO BE”.
As far as “MEL Gibson’s gory take on the Crucifixion” – three of the four gospels proclaim Jesus was “scourged”. Perhaps Ms. Quindlen is not well versed on what happened at a “Roman scourging”.
And last but not least by any means – having been a subscriber to Newsweek – I was certain that were the movie a success at the box office, that Mel Gibson would be attacked for doing it for gain. Newsweek – you didn’t let me down!!
Thank you Mel Gibson for the rude awaking so many of us needed!!!!

I want to thank Mel for The Passion. The ordeal of Jesus suffering is so easy to listen to while sitting in a pew or just reading about it – we not realize the full impact of the suffering of the Lord. Henceforth, I will take the Holy Communion on my knees.
God bless you Mel!
Let’s go for a sequel – same cast.
Jesus emerging the tomb, walking in the garden when first discovered, his later contacts with followers, and the ascension!
And then another picture following – the life of the Apostle Paul. This would bring to the screen the depiction of the entire New Testament. Not only to shore up faith of Christians but as an effedctive teaching tool to those who have yet to accept the Lord! Do it!!! (Paul suffered much during three missionary journeys yet remained the faithful stalwart building the infant church)

I saw The Passion last weekend with a bunch of my friend, many of whom aren’t Christians. I thought the movie was a great reminder of exactly what Christ did for me on the cross. I was impressed the fact that it was so centered on the bible and took little license with the facts. BUT leaving the theater talking with my friends who weren’t christian I started to worry. I’m not entirely convinced the movie gave the whole story. I understand that it is a great way to get people asking questions who don’t usually talk about such things but at the same time I’m worried about the people who would see the movie and not know who to talk to. I felt the movie showed very little of Jesus’ compassion. Although I know he did I didn’t feel like the movie showed Jesus choosing to die on the cross for ME. It’s been a week and i still don’t know how I feel about this movie. It certainly made an impact and I do commend the makers on a job well done.
This was the best “Make you feel bad for not going to chuch every Sunday if you’re already a Fundamentalist Christian” movie I’ve ever seen.
It will NOT change the minds of people who don’t believe the bible. It shed NO NEW LIGHT on the subject of Jesus’ life. It was pure propaganda and exploitation.
As for the people who say this is a masterpiece of film-making, they are wrong. It contains one of the most blatant dis-continuities I have ever seen in a film – after nailing one spike into Jesus’ hand, Gibson take such an effort to sicken the audience (again) by showing how the Roman guard stretches Jesus’ other arm until it dislocates to allow the second spike to fit where it should go. And in the next image of Christ on the cross, his hands are almost by his ears! This was sloppy and lazy. And also, I thought it was already understood that forensics dictates that nails through the hand could not support the weight of a body. The nails would have to go between the radius and ulna below the wrist. Isn’t this one of the ways the Roman Catholic Church distinguishes a true Stigmatic? If the blood pours from the wrist, and not the palms?
This movie was excruciating to watch. It was ultra-violent way beyond what was necessary. Who thought crucifixions were fun before this movie? I gagged as a youngster during any portrayal of the Stations of the Cross. And I gagged during this film. That seems to be the message of this film – crucifixions are butal.
And Gibson says, “Honestly, folks, I am not into gore.” (!?) Have any of you seen Braveheart?
It was also excrucitating to see such a well-respected filmmaker thumping a book that was was written 50 years after the events it describes.
It was a very religious film, and I was hoping for something a little more spiritual.
One last note in Gison’s defense: If this movie was anti-Semetic, then every move made about the Inquisition was anti-Catholic.
I saw Passion of the Christ last night and it was the most profound film I’ve ever seen. I wept throughout until my body trembled, as did Christ’s, at his every beating. God bless Mel Gibson for having the courage and ability to so adequately portray the suffering our Christ..suffering endured by Christ for ALL of us. I did not feel it was Anti-Semitic. After all, the son of God was a Jew. Yes…it was full of gore…yes, it was emotionally heavy but, so was the suffering of Christ and so was the cross he bore. Thank you, Mel….please bring us more reminders of our Lord. Kathe Payet – March 6, 2004 at 11:59 a.m.
I went twice to see. I will see some more times.I saw the Passion of Christ of Mel Gibson – Fr.Titus Rorigo OSB
I went to the Passion of Christ on the Feb. 27th and again on the 28th. I must say that out of all the movies on the Passion of Christ I have seen, it is the best. However, I do not think even 15% of the suffering of Jesus is shown. Certainly this movie is brutal enough, but the truth of Jesus’ suffering should not be hidden if it is going to help change someone’s life. Mel Gibson has fulfilled that mission with this movie, and for that I thank him. This movie is not for fun. It is two hours of solid and deep meditation on the passion of Jesus, love personified. It will be a great help to identify us with each character to get the best out of it. To walk with them side by side as you are there on the this painful journey, the most frightening journey that ever made to release from that horrible destiny. Identify even with Satan ,the one who sneaks in to us very quietly as we do to the others in the same way.The more we read the word of God in the Bible, the more we will discover and understand the love of God and the sacrifice He made for us. In the same way, the more we see this movie, the more we will understand the depth of God’s love, hidden in the language of suffering. For me, this movie is just a drop of the ocean of love, God communicated to us through the language of pain, suffering and rejection. The emotional, mental and physical suffering of Jesus that we read about, between the lines of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and shown in the Holy Shroud of Turin (the burial cloth of Jesus) is enormous. One may say we do not see Jesus in the Old Testament, but all that God went through He went through in Jesus, and Jesus is God.I wish that every human being, every bishop, priest, faithful, and everyone in the world would see this film, not once if possible but several times, for their own sanctification. I believe this would help the sanctification of others who come in contact with them. That is our primary mission, to help the sanctification of others. Of course, this is a medium of communication, a work of created art. Hence, there are things in this movie that we do not see in the Gospel. But they are extremely valuable to understand the message in the Gospel. Artists should have the freedom for artistic creativity and imagination, without compromising the truth. Surveys show that only 20% of the Christians regularly go to Church today. Without a doubt, all of us are far away from the expectations of God. I hope this movie will help all of us to move closer to the expectation of God. The blood Jesus shed, the pain, the suffering, and the rejection that He underwent may not be in vain. We are so valuable to God. May this movie change the hearts of people in this world, moving light speed toward secularism! This is a timely movie. Mel Gibson says he was moved by the Holy Spirit to make this movie. I definitely believe this to be true. The compassionate Mercy of the Heavenly Father is limitless. I am convinced this movie is a reminder of the love of the Father, who will never abandon us, even though we continue to abandon Him in public schools, public places, our own Churches, and in our own lives.I wish the atheist, the agnostic, and all the others who do not believe in God their Creator would also see this movie and come to understand that God is their benevolent and eternal Father, who gave them life and every thing that they enjoy, and is waiting to give them eternal life.
WOW,,,After reading the responses of so many, I haven’t been yet to see the film, but I am definatley going to see this film. My emotions are already surfacing, and my heart is softening even more just reading these responses,. I know that there will be those that disagree with this film, and the devil will try to destroy anything that is going to portray Jesus as our savior, which he is, this movie is obviouly making a diffrence to alot of people, and Praise God,,,MEL you have put it out there for all to see, GOD BLESS YOU!
i am 15 years old and viewed the movie the day after its premiere here in the US, i have to say it was THE best movie anyone could possibly have made. i found myself sinking lower and lower into my seat everytime i heard a whip lash against Jesus’ skin. it wasn’t the movie that made me cry, it was the thought of these events actually happening over 2000 years ago and people not caring!i hope as many people as possible gain a better understanding of Jesus’ sacrifice by seeing this movie. Thank you mel for taking a chance and not letting anyone discourage you of your beliefs.
The Passion of the Christ was the most moving
film I have seen. I have seen it twice and it
has changed me. I feel all people from every
walk of life should see this film. I think the
image of Satan and the grotesque child was a
mockery of the Modanna and Child. Satan was
mocking the relationship of Jesus and his mother.
This film was a true work of art. Nothing can
compare. I’m grateful to Mel Gibson to have the
courage and vision. I feel he has created a positive movement for the world.
Dear Mr. Gibson, As I read the comments so many have posted here on this site, I am saddened by those FEW who think what you did was evil, or that you produced this movie because you enjoy putting senseless bloodshed (which this movie was NOT) on the big screen. Those who have interpreted your effort (“The Passion…”) this way reveal their ignorance (chosen or otherwise) of the sacred Scriptures, in which this piece of history is written. As Orthodox Catholics (such as yourself, Mr. Gibson), this family realizes that your movie shows Christians EXACTLY what happened to Christ BECAUSE HE LOVES US SO MUCH–INFINITELY. You didn’t write this script. You reinacted the life of Christ–the final 12 hours before He left this world as both God and Man. PEOPLE; THIS STORY WAS NOT WRITTEN BY MEL GIBSON. GOD ALMIGHTY PENNED THIS ONE. Turn your minds away from what poison society has planted in them, and approach this movie with an open mind–open to God and his endless MERCY. God knows what it is to be human. It is not the devil who made Mel Gibson do this (as one writer stated above); however, it is the devil who blinds you to the TRUTH. Folks, this really happened. It happened on this earth because God Almighty decreed it. Jesus never fell prey to the tauntings and temptations of the devil. God is no fool; He is the author of LIFE. Why don’t you start there, and PRAY TO HIM TO REVEAL HIS PLAN FOR YOU. He won’t send you a bill, and He’ll take that hatred and anger you feel and make sense of it. I promise. It happened to me! Many are praying for you, Mr. Gibson, and thank you infinitely for spending your own dollars to bring the suffering and VICTORY of our Lord and Saviour to the big screen. You are persecuted because of this?? PRAISE BE TO GOD!!! One more thing: I will never approach the Most Holy Eucharist with such frivolity again. Oh, My God, I am so grateful for Mel Gibson’s tribute to YOU, FATHER, and Your only Begotten Son. THANK YOU FOR THE TRUTH, AND FOR ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS THE CHRIST. MAY HIS PASSION BE OUR PASSION.
I would like to say that i went to see the passion of the christ and before it I thought I was well prepared as i am a Catholic and i know the significance of the crucifiction. However nothing could prepare me for such truth, honesty and love. This movie would have to be the best movie i have ever seen in my life, it has turned my life around and made me turn to God even more.I’m 17 and it just goes to show that this movie really opens up everyone’s hearts(for example, not just people over 20)I thank God so much for choosing Mel Gibson to create this authentic film. How can anyone criticise such truth? Not many people would be able to stand up to others and do what Mel Gibson did. Thankyou so much Mel Gibson for opening up people’s eye’s and hearts, you are truly blessed and you’re certainly in my prayers.
I saw the Passion of Christ on its opening day in the U.S. Although of thought it was a good movie, I wonder why our white male christians continually want to misrepresent Christ and Jews as European looking people. Israel(Canaan Land) is ancient North Africa.
There is no doubt whatever that Gibson’s diabolical film is indeed,”an ABOMINATION in the sight of YeHVaH” as Yeshuwa’ the Messiah states:”For that which is HIGHLY ESTEEMED AMONG MEN is AN ABOMINATION in the sight of YeHVaH” (Luke 16:15).
This is also Satan’s last ditch effort to, bring more people to Paul and to fill the coffers of Mel Gibson. Film critics, in the News Media, inform us, that millions of Christians will contribute at least 302 million dollars to Gibson’ personal bank account as their reward to him for both producing and directing this EVIL film. Christian ministers are openly ‘rubbing their hands’ in glee at the certain prospect that Gibson’s film will “snare many more of the deceived” (Matthew 24:5) into the 28,000 factions of Christianity, founded in Antioch, in Syria by ‘Paul’.
Over the next week “the cross” which is “the mark of the beast and the image” (Revelation 16:2) of the very weapon which was used by “the UNGODLY MEN who made Yeshuwa’ the Messiah afraid” (Psalm 18:4)will be worshipped and kissed and praised and publicly displayed around their necks by the Christian followers of the beast ‘Paul’.
They will continue to “follow the beast with wonder” as they “UNASHAMEDLY” (Psalm 34:5) perform their “ABOMINATIONS” (Revelation 17:5); which include viewing Gibson’s evil film; and believe the LIE taught by ‘Paul’ that the Messiah “died for the UNGODLY MEN” who “made afraid” (Psalm 18:4) Yeshuwa’the lovely Messiah so loved by Disciples of Yeshuwa’ around the world.
Shame on you Mel Gibson.

I attended a Billy Graham Mission, the one in San Diego last May 2003. Outside the gates of the stadium where it was held stood a handful of awnry, vicious mockers who had as their sole purpose to demean the name of Mr. Graham and propose another gospel in the place of the one that was taught.
I see no difference here. Unfortunately, there will always be people who’s sole desire is to cause dissension within the Body of Christ. We should all be falling on our knees seeking God’s forgiveness that we haven’t been doing our duty of love in proclaiming Christ’s love to the world – God had to use Hollywood.
There will always be complainers and bigots amongst the true believers and contenders for the Truth. We are warned of that in the Corinthian letters, and other places. We as sons and daughters of the Most High God need to work together in these end times, not against each other.
The powers we fight against are not flesh and blood, you know the rest if you know your Bible.
Please, all of you who find this the time to bicker and start arguments, see the BIG picture here. God is calling on us to be real, to ourselves and to those who are lost without Christ’s saving grace.
Satan is much more gruesome of a character than what we all beheld in the Passion, yet what awaits those who are not saved will be far worse than anything shown in the film. Let’s all concentrate on the unsaved – praying constantly for their souls and being active in introducing them to our Savior.
Mel – I thank God that He has given you the courage to stand against Hollywood’s opinions. Even though some will never respond, no matter what, hundreds more people have flocked to our church gathering that has been packed with no where to park for the meetings since the opening of your film! We as a nation needed this painful wake-up call.
Praise God for the His love and mercy!
Kim in San Diego
The Passion of Christ was amazing. I could feel the pain of Jesus and Mary and cried for the sins of each of us. Some aspects of the movie may have been lost to those who have not read the Bible. I would love to see a movie which depicts the full story leading up to the curicification of Jesus and a more detailed explanation of why His resurrection was so important to the world. This type of accounting would help those who do not understand to fully comprehend how important it is to know Jesus.
One note: When purchasing our tickets, we were given tickets for the movie “The Miracle” even though we asked for and saw “The Passion of the Christ.”
EXPERIENCED…I went to the Passion tonight, and experienced each and every scene. I only a college student and can say that I will never experience anything like I did tonight. As the movie theatre cleared out tonight, the exit door (which cannot be opened from the outside) opened and then shut, nobody was even near the door. Lets just say, Jesus never lets us experience it alone.

” IN JESUS’ WONDROUS & LOVELY NAME & LOVE “
I couldnt understand why jews hated this film so much. Maybe they just cant accept the fact of what have their ancestor done to jesus, and maybe to the people of palestine.
Wonderfull presentation of the suffering of Christ and His Love for us.
Hope it has a sequal beginning with the resurection and ending 40 days later with the assension.
I saw the movie last weekend and i thought that it had a very interesting point of view. I really dont see what everyones problem is with the movie and the anti-semitic thoughts about the movie maybe coming ignorant closed minded person because i did’t see anything in the movie that said that the script was an accurate documentation of the bible and also it happened 2000 years ago!
This was the most unbelievable movie experience I have ever had. The range of emotions from anxiety, fear, revulsion, calmness and relief made up a truly roller coaster ride. You cannot see this movie and ever take communion the same way again. Thanks be to Jesus for what he did for us. Thank you to Mel Gibson for having the determination to bring this to the screen.
The movie was great. Mel created almost a perfect dark comedy. The cross carrying scenes were dragged out too far. It took him 45 minutes to finally get to that damn hill.
Overall…it was funny, and very violent. Gotta love blood and gore.
Thanks Mel Gibson for a wonderful film. It was truly capturing that we felt it was over too quickly. The 4 of us who went to see it were in tears for most of the film, mainly for the suffering that Jesus underwent of course, but also for what Mother Mary had to witness. You have established the relationship between mother and son so well.
It was a film that makes you wonder why certain groups throughout history have always been so power hungry at the expense of other things that should matter more than power. It makes you wonder whether this is ever going to change, so the world can at last be a more peaceful place.
The Passion is a powerful movie. The message of love and forgiveness permeates throughout this depiction of Christ’s suffering for all mankind. if only we could all “love one another” and forgive instead of seeking vengeance, if only we could all see each other as God’s creation and treat each other with respect and banish from our minds all thoughts connected to bigotry and racism. The world would be so much a better place.
We are in the very final stages of producing a special 1-hour television documentary called, “Changed Lives: Miracles of The Passion.”
As the name suggests, we are telling the stories of people whom God has forever changed, using the movie as a catalyst for His grace and work. These visual testimonies give witness to the life-altering power of Jesus Christ as presented through Mel Gibson and Icon Productions’ incredible motion picture “The Passion of The Christ.”
Shot in High Definition, this 1-hour TV special has received rave reviews from ABC’s “Good Morning America” and MSNBC’s “Scarborough Country,” and will air nationwide this Easter weekend.

Great April Fools gag Anne
I think it’s a little too soon to say if _The Passion_ has changed lives.
I went to see the Passion with my mom several weeks ago. I was seperated from my husband and heading down the road to divorce. I had tried everything to make myself happy of the WORLD. The devil was working on me pretty hard to completely deny God and follow him. I felt I was battling spiritual warfar in my head and heart.
I was raised in a very loving Christian family and had my husband ,family and friends praying for me . Those prayers were answered and I think seeing the Passion contributed to my putting my faith back in Jesus and my heavenly father to save me from the life I was living.
My marriage is stronger than it’s ever been. My husband and I are both seeking to know God and to continue to grow in him and allowing him to move in our lives. Thank God for sending his son to die for our sins.
I want to tell Mel Gibson that even though I can not thank him in person for bringing us this film and doing what the holy spirit led him to do that I will see him in the next life to do so. You are my brother in Christ and I love you and your reward will be stored up in heaven. To all of Mel’s critics ,”Hollywood ,you can’t even start to compare to what God has to offer those who do his will and who love him.” Praise God.
I saw the movie with a Pastor. I am not sure where some of the scenes came from ie; was the actor who played Jesus building the first dining room table designed for a higher chair than the actor who played Mary was use to. I guess that was Mary, but gee she looked too young to be his mother. And why was the actor who played Mary wiping up the blood with clothing. It would have been helful if it had been in English and at least had some explanation as to who was in scenes, even the bible explains who it is refering to… I am glad I know the Bible and the Lord for myself and have a personal relationship with Jesus…and that I base it on study of the word of God and not watching it or trying to find it at the movies……
Dear Mel, I am so proud of you and thankful that you have obeyed the Lord’s voice in your life. To make this movie “The Passion of the Christ” was a wonderful, Holy-Spirit inspired work and was greatly needed for this “time”. Thank you again,so much, and I want you to know that I pray for you and you family. Shalom to you.
Sincerely, Virginia
‘More Jews were depicted in a positive light…The Roman Guard were depicted in the most negative light.
I don’t see Romans comlaining they were prejudiced.’
- Ann-Marie,
As far as I’m aware:
The people of Rome (-seat of the Roman Catholic Church *formerly* the capital of the Roman Empire) weren’t (within living memory or otherwise) tortured and killed in concentration camps; nor have they been terrorized and persecuted to the present day.
There are no Anti-Roman: slurs, websites, hate groups, heads of state, nor Swastikas on Roman churches.
Thus, they have little to fear from Gibson’s ‘Passion’.
As I sat in the theater seats watching the beating Christ took for me and for all man kind I was torn. There I sat, a christian, never having KNOWN the beating he took, only read about it.
As he carried the cross and bent down to his mother and said “I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW” i felt then the Promise and the Power of the cross.
He made me new. he took a drug using, drinking, bad son and turned me into a man with a calling.
I am now the acting youth leader of my church and hope to be offically ordained by the end of the year.
Thank you Jesus for the cross!

Studying this information So i am satisfied to show that I’ve an incredibly just right uncanny feeling I came upon exactly what I needed. I such a lot definitely will make certain to don?t forget this website and give it a glance regularly.
Just what we need .. encouragement to create more meaningless based on other meaningless articles.
My brother recommended I would possibly like this blog. He was entirely right. This put up truly made my day. You can not imagine just how a lot time I had spent for this information! Thanks!
The movie was touching in all its horror and gruesomeness. I admit that I have had a difficult time trying to watch it repeatedly. I cannot bear to see the pain and ultimate death most especially the scene when Jesus is severely beaten and carried a heavy wooden cross to Golgotha up to his crucifixion. As a Christian, I view the life and death of Jesus as a sacred story, one that is filled with examples of mercy, justice, injustice, forgiveness, and love.
To me, the torture and torment is beyond belief. I can honestly say I have never been so moved as I was by watching The Passion of the Christ. For me, it held a personal message since I am a believer in Christ. I felt such love to consider that Christ suffered for me. It changed my life in a way beyond words. I would recommend it to any believer. It teaches a new, deeper appreciation for an act of love beyond verbal description.
