Former PTL land goes to Charlotte’s MorningStar Fellowship Church

Charlotte’s MorningStar plans center there

Fort Mill developer Earl Coulston paid $4 million Tuesday for 160 acres in northeast York County, according to paperwork filed Tuesday.

The property once was the heart of the Heritage USA operations of former televangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, who ran the PTL ministry.

Also Tuesday, Coulston sold 52 of those acres to his minister, Rick Joyner, of Charlotte’s MorningStar Fellowship Church. The ministry paid $1.6 million for the land, making a cash down payment and borrowing another $1.3 million from First Citizens Bank & Trust Co., according to documents filed with the county clerk’s office.

Coulston charged his church nearly $6,000 more per acre than the $25,000 per acre that he paid.

By the end of the year, Coulston plans to own 942 acres of the 2,300 acres that were once part of the Bakkers’ Christian theme park and retreat.

  1. Of course this is only news to the media because it gets to bring up the PTL scandal.

Morningstar is not afraid of being linked with repentant sinners like Bakker

  2. GO Morningstar!!!!!!

The Lord will redeem the Land!!!!
