Thousands of Christians celebrate Feast in Jerusalem
CBN.com JERUSALEM - Christians from around the world are attending Fall Feast celebrations in Jerusalem. Israel has weathered four years of war. But, despite more than 1,000 dead and thousands more wounded, the nation is rebounding from an economic recession and a downward trend in tourism
It is the Feast of Tabernacles to Christians and the Feast of Succot to Jews. The biblical holiday mentioned in Leviticus 23 instructs Gods people to build a booth, and spend time in it for eight days, honoring the Holy One of Israel.
It is one of three times during the year when Jewish people are required to come up to Jerusalem to celebrate the feasts.
Zechariah 14 says nations will one day be required to send representatives to Jerusalem at this time. If they do not, they will face dire consequences. Christians are already preparing for that day.
This year, over 4,000 Bible believers from more than 80 nations are taking part in the International Christian Embassy Feast (ICEJ) of Tabernacles celebration.
