So what colour was Jesus?
Posted on October 28th, 2004 by Anthony K. Valley
The superficial discussion of the color of Christ revived… The message of Christ is not about the color of His skin, but about His remedy for our sin.
Jesus has been named the top black icon by the New Nation newspaper. Their assertion that Jesus was black has raised eyebrows in some quarters – so what colour was he?
Just as no one will ever produce proof for the existence of God, the question of Jesus’s colour may always be a matter for personal belief.
Was he white, white-ish, olive-skinned, swarthy, dark-skinned or black? There are people who believe he was any one of those shades, but there seem to be only two things about the debate that can be said with any degree of certainty.
First – if the past 2,000 years of Western art were the judge, Jesus would be white, handsome, probably with long hair and an ethereal glow.

Er…That’s very sweet Mr.Spock, but you’re in the 2000 and 4th year of our Lord, not 20004th.
yahsua (jesus) is a person of color…not an image of a man with long hair below his neck or light color skin with red pigment…yes it is said he is a jew and he was…but a jew of the tribe of judea.. which is from jacob not esau. There were 12 tribes esau was not one of them…(esau) being the ancestor of the (white man) today…...the kenizites was joined with jacob..whom was called isreal…which real meaning is’ a mixture of people’ it is said that yahsua (Jesus) would come from judea…which was a tribe of brown color people..there was 2 nations born they were twins in the wond..one was red and hairy and the other of a differ smooth skin and color…judea is ‘dark’ today they make us believe that the jews is only a (white man) the lighter (red man) only became jews when they were put under the tribe of judea and that was by celeb and his obedient to what moses ask..they learnth about the worship of God and took it with them from 12 tribes..because they were among them…it was like an adoption..when some one is adopted they become apart of your family and learn from you. ...i can go on and on with this…and it would still come to one answer yahsua (jesus) was of a darker skined not like the skin esau,edom,edomite.persons….you can e-mail me write if you have questions…proof is in the bible…
Always it is stated that the colour of Christ is unimportant! The scriptures say worship all things in spirit and TRUTH. If people say colour does not matter then where is the black jesus at the front of the church. The same people that say the colour is irrelevant, are the same ones who would walk out if a black Jesus stood.
The answer is very simple jesus was black. Lets look at the facts, are there any white indigenous races, the answer to this is No. The Aborigines for Australia, The Native Indians for America, The Dravidians for India, The Incas Aztecs for South/central america, The Arawaks and Caribes for the Carribean and parts of south america. In Malasia, China, Russia etc the originals are all darked skinned. If anyone can name one white indigenous race then…..
Also the answer is simple if you have a paint pallette and i say to you here is some black paint now change it to white. I can do that by mixing white paint until the colour changes, but if i had you white paint and say change it to black, can you do it the answer is NO. It is simple.
Truth is truth…you can hide it, surpress it, forget it, but it is there. The good book says THAT WHICH IS HIDDEN SHALL BE BROUGHT TO LIGHT….So everyone reading this STAY ENLIGHTENED
some very interesting statements and observations, worthy of further investigation.
in the bible it’s written: His hair is like wool and his skin is like burned ‘something’ (i forgot what that something was). And in an other vers theres written: his feet is like bronze.
I personally don’t think it’s important what the skin colour of jesus was, but I do think we should get the facts straight.
See the Movie Color of the cross this fall, Jesus is finally protrayed in aHollywood movie as a black man!! Let see how the world react to this and if colour matters or not. Mel Gibson’s passion made 600 millions dollars worldwide, now let see what happens.
Are we ready for Black Jesus????
Perhaps Jesus was green with yellow spots? He came from another planet to redeem us; we Earthlings are not smart or moral enough to do it for ourselves, that’s obvious.
Prey with me brothers!
I simply have to respond to KC’s post, as it reeks of ignorance…

I say:
The answer is simple or perhaps not, who knows.. but the question is irrelevant. Secondly…. there are not white indigenous races??? so white people are a spontanious creation not of this earth? white people are indigenious to europe into asia. visit western russia and tell me the races that exist there. we came from the same dust you did… stop being a racist. stop painting yourself the perpetual victim of “the white man” if you truly want racism to be a thing of the past, then stop aknowledging a difference between the races. its a simple solution to a complex problem

i say:
this is the stupidest thing i’ve ever heard a person say. go buy some paint and try it. i can no more make white into black than black into white. they are polar opposites and so long as one contains a fractional part of the other then the result is somewhere in between… which is where we all reside anyways.
