Outrage Over Parking Ticket Pay-off

It’s a simple case of ‘ask and ye shall receive,’ but in this case many are asking if the right people are on the receiving end.
BOISE - There was a flood of angry calls to KBOI’s radio talk show Wednesday morning. Callers were upset about a Christian Church group that is offering to pay up to $10,000 in outstanding parking tickets to any one who apologizes for their mistake.
KBOI talk show hosts read listener emails over the air: “Craig in Boise says ‘oh goody! Another benefit for idiots who don’t know how to follow the rules.”
All morning long listeners called in and e-mailed the show with complaints about the unlikely act of charity. “Why the church would want to step in and pay them is beyond me” questioned one caller.
This Saturday anyone can bring unpaid parking tickets to Boise City Hall where the church group will pay them in full. “This is less about paying the fines and more about understanding if they have a fine, that fine can be forgiven by asking,” said Michael Boerner of the Christian Churches Association.
