Falwell’s condition upgraded from critical to serious condition

Rev Jerry Falwell’s heath is showing signs of slight improvement.


Doctors upgraded the Rev. Jerry Falwells condition from critical to serious but stable Wednesday after they removed a ventilator from his esophagus.

The mechanical ventilator has been removed and he is breathing spontaneously without any difficulty, said Dr. Joseph Khoury, a pulmonary critical care specialist attending to Falwell at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Falwells wife, Macel, drove him to the hospital shortly before midnight Monday.

He had complained of shortness of breath.
