Kirk Franklin Responds to Tonex’s Announcement
Upon hearing that Tonex is considering retirement, Kirk Franklin both reflects on his relationship with Tonex appeals to the masses to send their encouragement this hurting minister.
My brother Tonex is now feeling that weight; the weight of being gifted, mistreated, and misunderstood; the weight of an industry that is only built to make money, not heal broken souls. Because in truth, that is not a label’s job.My talented friend is considering retiring. This, on so many levels, is not good. For one, we have only begun to see the gifts and talents of this young man. Two, we as a body cannot allow one of our own to leave wounded without joining together to reinforce our love for one of the world’s most talented human beings. If you have never seen this young man dance, sing and minister, you have not seen all that God can do through one vessel. It is truly amazing.

I am not sure if Tonex will get this but I pray that he will. Tonex, there is no doubt in my mind that you are gifted and anointed by God. I don’t know everything you are going through at this point in your life but I know you are going through it. I mean this is not your final destination. God will see you through it. The word through is a preposition. Pre-position. It is where you are now but it is not anywhere near where you will end up. I wish I had the means to bless you financially for what I feel the gift in you is worth. But I don’t have the millions of dollars it would take to compensate you for your tremendous gift. I assure you that if you continue through the pain, through the disappointments, through the slander and maliciousness, your wealth will surpass Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond and even that of many secular artists. I love you with the love of Christ my brother. I just love you and the gift that you share with the world. Hold your head up and be delivered from people. i seen u minister last night in brooklyn at the empire. I see that u have that special anointing that nobody else have. Your ability to reach so many of God’s people is just simply breath taking, and i really saw the spirit of God in you. Please be encourage, remmber what JOB went through. GOd allow the enemy to take everything away from him but Job remained faithful nonetheless. Because of jobs faith and submission to God, God gave him so much more. So don’t u give up and keep singing and ministering and giving your life to the almighty living God. Remmber he loves you and he won’t give you more that you can bare. YOU DO NOT GO BY WHAT YOU SEE, ITS ALL ABOUT FAITH AND THE TRUST THEORY !!!!
Tonex….I read your blog and your interview when you disclosed your decision to leave te music industry. I understand where you are right noiw and how sometimes when the warfare gets so great we have to count up the cost and decide….is it worth all this?...I know that your relationship with the Father is first and foremost. I also know that the things that have been said and done have NOT been done as the Word of God says….”...restore with a spirit of meekness..”...not that you have done anything that is worthy of fault finding. Those that have touched the anointing will have to deal with the Anointer. I pray your strength and healing from all the attacks and I also pray that you return in the power of the Spirit. I truly understand how disalussioned you may be about the industry.And your devorce want make it any better. But let’s get real my brother. This gift you have from the Lord is not just for you. You benefit monetarily. But.the message God put in your spirit is to help build his kingdom. I don’t know what you are feeling, but if you let the enemy stop you because of people and circumstances he has accomplished his mission. It’s to late in this war
with the enemy to quit on the Lord. So many young people look up to you
and listen to your message. How many souls that God has strategetly placed
in your path? Don’t stop this important work.Ask the Lord to deliver you from
peoples whatever so you can do what you were called to do. Remember the parable of the talents?
My husband and I was just talkng about how satan has attacked the gospel music ministeries and some wonder why? Just think back, Satan was the cheif musician and he know all the ins and outs of music, where to attack and how. I’m not only a fan of Tonex but a lover of his music as well. I want to let him know that this is only a test. Remember Job and all that he went through one thing he never did was turn his back on GOD!!! The Bible says when my mother and father ( friends, wife, business partners, pastors, brothers, sisters in the gospel, etc) forsake me then the Lord will take you up. Cast all you cares on him for he cares for you, In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall( promise word) direct your path. Being annointed is not something you decide, It’s a gift from god and we all know what God will do if we bury his gift. Tonex remember that your steps are order by GOD it’s not your will but his will. So don’t aim to please other but GOD. After you cried, and cried and prayed , after you have done all just stand.

I pray this reaches you!! I am 30 years old and a christian!! When I thought I had no space in Christiandom, I saw your DVD “Out of the Box” and learnt I do not have to be anything but what God requires fo me.
I can relate to you, but you need to realize that God never promised you it would be easy, but He PROMISED He would be with you always and He cannot and will not lie. The Devil would rejoice if you give up, please not FIGHT!! even when it hurts FIGHT!! I have been taken out of ministries(singing on the choir and drama, ladies ministry, youth fellowship) because I was different, I have been cursed from the pulpit because my passion, my ministry was dance. I have had friends turn on me but GOD!! Now GOD HAS PLACED ME IN WHERE IT IS ACCEPTED BUT NEW CHALLENGES ARISE.
Make the devil mad that he messed with you, DO NOT GIVE UP!! GLORIFY GOD WITH YOUR PRECIOUS GIFT!!

Lets get right down to business… You came into KINGDOM OF GOD, by the grace of GOD and HIS drawing power. I dont really understand your brand of music or its expression. However, that has nothing to do with your gift. The LORD-GOD has entrusted you with a talent, and now you say “I dont like the way I am being treated so I’m gonna take my ball and go home.” Well I say…. “THE DEVIL IS A LIAR” You cant just decide I dont like the way SOME people are looking at me or treating me LORD—
so at this tender age Ive decided to quit—under the comfortable umbrella of RETIREMENT. You have just got your feet wet and now you say “no more”?Why dont you try a different approach to this thing…. Be angry enough or Hurt enough, or fed-up enough—-to pull yourself up and tell the DEVIL I will go on… Tell the LORD no matter how far or great the task.. I’ll go.
Be committed to the work of the LORD more than to the opinions and looks of the PEOPLE. Bare your cross… Remember the time is short, and JESUS is soon to come! The devil is mad because he knows his time is almost up… Be strong, be valant, be of a good cheer, the LORD my good is with you, and with this I close…

we must, as the youth take responsibility for our own actions if your brethren sees you defiling yourself and others you do right by steping down until you understand the conduct of a saint. we are to die to ourselves daily and to be examples. peircings, tatoos, and being showy are not of God. How can you possilbly be an individual in Christ(2thes 3:6). i think we have allowed the world to tell us what we should be instead of following what He told us to be (lowly and meek). so christians the only box we need to get out of is the box of our minds that continue to hold us hostage. Tonex you did right by stepping down and asking for prayer and i believe you are on your way to a true repentance call.
God had to first strip you of everything in order to get your attention. so people of God understand that he must go through this trial not because he is doing the work of God but because he was disobedient to God. know it is the work of the devil the saints of God must e equipped to stand against and if you are promoting him knowingly or unknowling the righteous will make a stand for God and not your talent.
last thing saints music and singing is not a gift but a talent to be used to praise God. so please stop calling it a gift and study what the gifts from God are.

Hello Tonex!!!
I just want to say as a mother of 5 teenage children, ages ranging from 13 to 17, you just don’t realize how you have impacted my teens with the spirit of Christ. You see, my son, 17, always said that he just don’t like to listen to “church” music, as we call it. He just can’t get the clap thing down, the dance or shouting thing down. All he knows how to do is Krypt walk, the harlem shake, and all those other dances. So one particular evening we decided to watch the “Out The Box” dvd and when the music started my son came out the room and thought we were watching BET Videos, no offense. So when he sat down and starting watching the dvd he was so out done with the music arrangement as well as the performance that he decided to invest in ALL of your cd’s. So as a young mother not even close to my 40’s say that the word of God says “He that winneth souls are wise”, brother you have to do what you got to do to win these young people for Christ. Older folks don’t have time for them anymore and we are losing them daily because of that they can’t get with Shirley Cesaers, or Dottie Peoples or even Hez Walker. They have to hear something that can catch their attention. So I say to you, Keep The music playing and they spirit of God flowing in whatever decision that you make. DOn’t let carnal christians cause you to miss out on a generation that needs to hear from you.

Tonex, my heart was just crushed when I read all of this. I never went on the website to read of any information about you till now because I listening toi your cd, Out The Box, which I LOVE!!! and was wondering when your next one was due or when you will be on a new tour. All I know is that you have helped me spirtually with your lyrics and your ministry. Please Tonex, don’t stop your ministry. I know what the industry can do. One of my good friends is going through the same thing, someone who you know personally. Don’t give up, just try to re-group, find the direction that GOD wants you to go. Maybe this is his way of telling you to find another path for your ministry, another label, another testimony. Remember GOD is good, all the time and he has something good in store for you.

I’m just recently getting to know Tonex through his music. I am a 46 yr. old Christian, mother of three (3) teenagers, and finding myself to be a “mother” figure to more teenagers. These young people are seriously hurting out here—saved and unsaved alike. And as much as I’d like to, I find it hard to get them properly connected to Christianity. And then came along gospel artists like Tonex, Kirk, Tye, J Moss, and Deitrick. CHURCH…HOW DARE YOU CHASE AWAY GOD’S WARRIORS! WHO MADE YOU JUDGE OVER GOD’S SERVANTS??? Not. God! Yes, I heard Tonex’s web byte where he was swearing left and right—but tell me—haven’t you EVER lost it in your Christian walk and it came out in the worst way???!!! Saved for 24 years and still “walking”, and YES I HAVE —MORE THAN ONCE. That kind of honesty comes from REAL Christians—not hypocrites. That’s the sound of a seriously…wounded…Christian. I am in 100% support of Tonex and the like. I can’t do what they do for the Body—and neither can you. Leave him alone and pray fervently that we don’t lose him to the deceit of Satan—but that’s if you can actually get a prayer through! My word to you: “Touch not mine anointed. And do my prophets no harm.” —God. Be encouraged Tonex and ALL of my young warriors in Christ. We desperately need your music, your ministry, and your message.
