Bootable Live Windows on CD/DVD
Bart’s Preinstalled Environment (BartPE) bootable live windows CD/DVD is just the ticket for Windows Admins who need to rescue PCs.
It’s funny, I was just having this conversation with a couple of Linux Admins at work, “I wonder if someone has created a Live CD/DVD for Windows that’s similar to the Knoppix Live CD for Linux?”
Lady and Gentlemen, BartPE is the answer….
Posted by akvalley at February 16, 2004 06:21 AM | TrackBackBartPE is not usable as Knoppix is. It don’t have the same graphical interface as windows, the support for applications is way worst and you cannot work on it more than 10 minutes due to it’s 60Hz refresh rate.
Knoppix LiveCD and Suse Live CD are kinda complete os usable like the installed ones.
I would love a windows like that, but it is not present for the moment :(

Posted by: Cristi Predie at July 18, 2004 02:39 PMKnooppix is a collection of 2GB GNU Software that no is propietary software, but BartPe is a Propietary, then is more complicated, if anybody is notice of more plugins for electronical programs, please notice me and do a comunity that like Live CD with restriction less. Sorry for my english, i’m not a naturally english speaker.
Posted by: Asnodoc at August 22, 2004 05:42 PMmost linux live cd i’ve used is good, but as long as (BartPE) is usefull regardless of proprietary, maybe there’s more development will arise for the next version and it’s very helpful for admin to have a copy of this.
